Young hearts set ablaze at Easter Camp 2023

Easter Camp in Christchurch continues to be one of the most profound spaces for young people to encounter Jesus. With workshops, talks, and worship sessions designed to facilitate encounters with the Holy Spirit, the camp impacted each of the 50 young people from the Nelson Diocese who attended. I had the privilege of speaking to four rangatahi from St B’s Youth, who graciously shared their amazing experiences of prayer and prophecy during the camp.

These powerful stories offer a glimpse into the life-changing experiences of young people at Easter Camp, testifying to the impact of prayer, prophecy, and encountering Jesus.

"I felt God’s presence running through me, and resting into my throat, and I suddenly spoke out - trying to speak in English, and I spoke in tongues."

"I felt a real sense of peace and connection with God while I was praying for my mate. He put a picture in my mind to share with my mate and I shared it, and it was the biggest reaction I’ve ever received from a word before."

"The thing that stuck with me is that my worth comes from God and not from other people."

"It was kind of surprising to hear how accurate and powerful their words were and how I could apply them to my own life."

"I was overwhelmed with feelings of love for my youth and the desire to support them. As I was on my knees crying out to God, I felt him remind me that he loves my youth so much more than I do."
