Kōrero mai anō – Speak to us again

In September I announced a renewed focus on looking at how we can revitalise our churches through new evangelistic efforts and engage with real needs in our communities. This work began at Synod where I spoke about ‘the hole in the bucket’ and where we discussed some of the challenges we face.

I ask you to now join with me in holding your parish leaders up in prayer as we enter into a Season of Discernment. We will use this time to reflect on the past and prayerfully consider the future for our ministries.  See below for what the Season of Discernment is about.

On a related matter, it is with great regret that I have accepted the withdrawal of Nigel Irwin from his appointment as Director of Revitalisation due to a change in his personal circumstances. Our thoughts and prayers go out to Nigel and his family. We will take our time to reflect on this news and to prayerfully determine a way forward for this important ministry role.
