Children and Families Ministry Coordinator

20 hours
Voluntary
Are you passionate about nurturing the faith of our tamariki and whānau? Do you have a heart for supporting parishes and building vibrant communities of faith?

The Nelson Anglican Diocese is seeking a dedicated and dynamic individual to join our team as the Ministry Coordinator—Children and Families. This part-time role (20 hours per week) will place you at the heart of our mission, working closely with the Bishop’s Ministry Team to develop and support children and families ministry across our diocese.

As the ministry coordinator, you will play a key role in crafting and implementing strategic action plans that align with our diocesan vision. Your responsibilities will include assisting parishes in identifying their unique ministry contexts and opportunities, providing an online collection of resources for the spiritual development of children within families, and organising training sessions to help parish-based ministries flourish. Additionally, you will support leaders to integrate children and families ministry with overall parish and diocese activities. In this leadership role, you will be part of the Bishop’s Ministry Team, collaborate with parishes, Bishopdale College, and other ministry units to inspire and equip leaders. Building and maintaining networks to share best practices and resources across the diocese will be a crucial part of your role. You will also actively participate in and lead diocesan events and contribute to the prayer life and culture of the Anglican Centre team.
