Diocese of Wellington

St Michael and all Angels Newlands - Priest-in-Charge Up to 0.7 FTE

We are a loving, stable, and eclectic body of faithful disciples desiring to reach out in practical ways to embrace and support the growing Newlands community.  Our vision is to be and to build community.  We run a food co-operative, help provide community lunches, hold a school uniform exchange and our buildings are available for community use.  But we want to do more.  A project being managed by the Diocese will see much needed affordable housing built on our land soon.

We’re looking for an ordained parish leader who will both help us to build up the spiritual heart of our parish and to challenge and enable us to better serve God in our local community.  You can learn more about us by reading our parish profile at St Michael and All Angels Newlands - Parish Profile (

The position is up to 0.7FTE.  We have a five-bedroomed vicarage beside the church but are open to discussing alternative housing arrangements with you.

Applications, including your c.v and a covering letter describing your sense of call to serve at St Michael’s, should be sent to the Bishops’ assistant Paul Carey ( no later than Friday 14 May 2021.

Diocese of Christchurch

Full time Vicar Woodend-Pegasus Parish

Our diverse, vibrant, multi age range, growing faith community seeks a full-time Vicar - someone who is able to open new connections in the growing community while sustaining and expanding existing connections; someone who is sympathetic to the needs of all age groups; who has a strong liturgical base but is open to new styles and approaches in worship, building on the existing diversity of worship styles. We need a person who can lead and inspire, has a positive outlook and is able to foster our talents.

Our traditional whitewashed Anglican Church sits on the northern boundary of the Woodend township and the parish encompasses the growing Pegasus and Ravenswood developments. The mission fields of this growing region are extensive and will be rewarding.

If the Holy Spirit prompts you to apply, we look forward to meeting you.  A parish profile and an expression of interest form are available by emailing the Executive Assistant at the Diocese of Christchurch: or by phoning 03 348 6701.

Applications, which must include a CV; a response to the profile of not more than four pages, and a statement about your faith and personal approach to ministry, are requested by 5 pm Monday 24 May 2021 and are to be sent to

On February 2011 after the Christchurch Earthquake St James Church building in Riccarton became unsafe and no longer usable. For some time now we have spent time dreaming, visioning, imagining, listening to the Holy Spirit and researching the needs of the area. We have continued to be attentive and responsive to God and committed to mission and ministry in the Riccarton area. We have been led to purchase a property on Riccarton Road, to be a home running as a Missional Community: a beautiful place for people from all walks of life to come and be whānau/family and experience the hope of God.

Our Kaupapa Values

Our overall parish ministry is focused on cultivating a culture of discipleship, mission and Regeneration through people who are followers of Jesus called to live by the 5 Marks of Mission

Initially we are seeking a married couple/family, or a small group of people, to live at 200 Riccarton Road and commence developing this missional ministry. This is a strongly relational ministry and having an understanding of and experience in multi-ethnic life/missional ministry/Intentional community living would be very helpful. This is a volunteer role (unpaid), and we would expect the persons to be in some form of external with the capacity for well resourced ministry/mission. We would expect the persons to be followers of Jesus with some capacity for mission and ministry in the Riccarton area.

You can access the 'Expression of Interest' and other background information from the parish website “Love Riccarton” on
